Roundhouse upgrades with CHAUVET Professional

For over 50 years Roundhouse (Sydney’s roundest venue) has held everything from major dance parties, comedy, theatre, conferences, private parties and sold out gigs. Relaunched in March 2018, Roundhouse is home to awesome events on UNSW campus. From corporate conferences to sold-out student parties, Roundhouse is a unique venue in Sydney capable of delivering high-quality events to clients of all kinds.

As part of the relaunch, Roundhouse is always on the lookout to expand their lighting with new fixtures and recently was in attendance for a shootout of some wash lights on the market. After seeing the CHAUVET Professional Rogue R2 Wash perform in the shootout, Roundhouse was very impressed with the fixtures capabilities and went to Showtools to acquire 8 fixtures for the venue.

The Rogue R2 Wash really caught the eye of Roundhouse due to its output and price. The Rogue R2 Wash is both durable and dependable, this moving wash workhorse produces a bright, powerful light and offers five zones of LED control to pixel map its 19 (15 W) RGBW quad-LEDs. The fixture will be a versatile addition to the venue with its impressive output given its relatively compact size. The fixture will able to bathe Roundhouse’s stages due to its standout zoom range of 12° to 49° which will give the venue the spread to cover even the largest areas.

Other key benefits as to why Roundhouse decided to acquire the Rogue R2 Washes was its ease of use and the fact that they were recommended the fixture by many lighting designers and users who have utilised the R2 wash with great success. Installing these moving fixtures in Roundhouse not only brings a heightened level of production to the venue, but they also provide nearly unlimited flexibility in how, what, and where they direct light. The Roundhouse is used for a variety of events and not just one purpose, therefore flexibility is key and that is what the R2 Wash provides.

The Rogue R2 also has a unique lens design for excellent colour blending, fast/smooth pan and tilt movement as well as 6 distinct dimming modes for advanced control. To conclude the fixture ticked all the boxes for Roundhouse’s requirements.
