House of Darwin Embraces Their Curves!

Picture this:

A balmy 32-degree evening south of Darwin, overlooking the stunning Berry Springs National Park. As the sun sets with a glowing orange horizon, there’s only one place that captures this magic—the latest venue in the Northern Territory, The Hangar.

This unique venue, located in Weddell, south of Darwin, is the brainchild of the House of Darwin team, in collaboration with John Fish, E3 Productions, and Event Engineering.

What makes it stand out? It’s an operational helicopter hangar that transforms into an extraordinary event space for DJ acts and more!

Designing this venue came with its challenges, especially with incorporating permanent production equipment while maintaining aviation operations. Enter the lighting maestros at Studio John Fish

The lighting design features 22 CHAUVET Professional Colorado PXL Curve 12’s that form an organic array across the hangar roof, creating immersive effects that leave you awestruck.

To top it off, a Minuit Une IVL Dice takes the spotlight behind the DJ console, surrounded by custom LED strip lighting by Led Strip Solutions .

The programming of Studio John Fish did the simplicity of the rig justice and dramatically showed what is achievable when using the PXL Curves in large arrays, the effect is truly stunning and was well received by patrons on the opening night of the venue.

Kudos to E3 Productions for their stellar installation work and Event Engineering for ensuring the lighting blends seamlessly with the venue’s functional needs.
