CHAUVET Professional Color STRIKE M Takes Centre Stage on Reneé Rapp’s Australian Tour
Sixteen CHAUVET Professional Color STRIKE M fixtures delivered powerful strobe effects and dynamic visual transitions for Reneé Rapp’s first Australian tour, supporting a lighting design built around emotion, intensity and theatrical storytelling.
Opening at Brisbane’s Riverstage on 27 January 2026, the American singer-songwriter brought her signature theatrical energy to Australian audiences, supported by a compact yet versatile lighting rig designed to complement every moment of her performance.
Lighting designer and director Jack Cannon, working alongside programmers Taylor Jack Haynes and Jade Frasey, utilised a PRG-supplied rig of just 60 fixtures, including 16 CHAUVET Professional Color STRIKE M motorised strobe/washes.
Lighting Driven by Emotion
The lighting design was developed to reflect the emotional contrasts within Rapp’s music, transitioning between intimate, atmospheric moments and explosive visual effects.
Cannon incorporated saturated colour palettes, dramatic silhouettes and high-intensity strobing to establish distinct moods throughout the performance. Deep reds, icy blues and stark whites helped reinforce the emotional direction of each song, while carefully positioned backlighting transformed Rapp’s silhouette into a commanding visual element.
Positioned along the downstage truss and upstage floor, the 16 Color STRIKE M fixtures provided striking strobe effects that punctuated the production’s most energetic moments.
Rather than relying on continuous visual intensity, the design used contrasting lighting states to create tension, movement and dramatic impact.
The Power of Color STRIKE M
Combining high-output white strobe elements with a colour-mixing, pixel-mappable LED face, the CHAUVET Professional Color STRIKE M provides lighting designers with exceptional creative flexibility.
Its 180° motorised tilt range, 14 RGB zones and 28 individually controllable white strobe sections enable everything from intense strobe sequences to saturated colour washes.
Built with an IP65-rated enclosure, the fixture is engineered for demanding touring environments and outdoor productions.
For Reneé Rapp’s Australian tour, the Color STRIKE M demonstrated how powerful, versatile lighting technology can support both high-impact concert effects and nuanced theatrical storytelling.
